37th death anniversary of renowned writer, filmmaker, director and poet Shabab Keranvi is being observed on Sunday.

Shabab Keranvi was born in 1925 at Kerana, district Muzaffarnagar in Utter Pardesh India and his real name was Nazeer Ahmad.

He worked for promotion of Urdu literature and wrote 24 Urdu novels.

He debuted in the Pakistani film industry as a producer and lyricist with film ‘Jalwa’ in 1955 while he made his directorial debut with film ‘Surayya’ 1961.

Shabab Keranvi died in Lahore on this day in 1982, at the age of 56.
