Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa retired Justice Syed Arshad Hussain Shah held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja in Islamabad on Wednesday and discussed matters pertaining to the elections.

The caretaker Chief Minister briefed the Chief Election Commissioner about the election preparations in the province. He assured that the provincial government along with the Election Commission will ensure the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections in the province.

The Chief Election Commissioner congratulated the caretaker Chief Minister on assuming the office and said that keeping in mind the current security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, necessary steps should be taken for the peaceful conduct of general elections, in which the safety of voters should be given priority.

Sikandar Sultan Raja said the Election Commission will soon visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to review the preparations for elections in the province.
