Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Rizwan Saeed Sheikh met with Chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee Mike Rogers and discussed bilateral relations.
The Ambassador said that last year marked significant progress in Pakistan–U.S. relations. He said the scope of bilateral cooperation would be further expanded this year.
Drawing attention to the events of May 2025, the Ambassador said India’s irresponsible and aggressive behaviour posed serious threats to regional security. Between two nuclear-armed states, the scope of confrontation has expanded beyond conventional warfare to the use of advanced technologies.
The Ambassador said the core issue requiring attention and resolution between Pakistan and India is the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
He emphasized that continued U.S. engagement and commitment are critically important for sustainable regional peace and stability.
