A dignified, spiritual, and purposeful gathering for women was organized by the Germany-based Sharif Academy Germany to mark the blessed days of Muharram-ul-Haram. The inspiring event was excellently organized by the Academy’s Executive Director for Europe, Ruhi Bano.

Women from various schools of thought participated enthusiastically in the prayer gathering and expressed their devotion and love for the martyrs of Karbala. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by the collective recitation of Surah Yaseen for the elevation of the ranks and the conveyance of rewards to the martyrs of Karbala. Speakers paid rich tribute to the great martyrs and honored their eternal sacrifices.

The prayer and intellectual session was attended by prominent social, political, religious, and literary personalities from Paris, including Information Secretary of Sharif Academy Germany France Nainan Khan, renowned journalist, anchor, and Program Director Nasira Khan, President of Press Club France and Coordinator of Sharif Academy Germany France Asifa Hashmi, Business Forum France Coordinator Sitara Malik, President of Rah-e-Adab France Mumtaz Malik, social and religious personality Rani Kanwal, religious leader Ghazala Yasmeen, senior leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Tahira Sahar, political figures Farah Karim, Farhat Ashiq, Samina Batool, and Farakhanda Khalil, as well as noted poet and columnist Shamim Khan.

Through their speeches and elegies, the speakers highlighted the historical, religious, and humanitarian significance of the tragedy of Karbala. They described the sacrifices of Imam Hussain and his devoted companions as shining examples of truth, justice, patience, perseverance, and steadfast resistance against oppression. They emphasized that Karbala is not merely a historical event but an eternal message for humanity, clearly distinguishing truth from falsehood in every era.

Addressing the gathering, Ruhi Bano elaborated on the virtues of Muharram-ul-Haram and the philosophy of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA). She stated that his sacrifice remains a guiding light for the Muslim Ummah and urged women to educate future generations about the message of Karbala, Islamic values, and moral teachings so that love, tolerance, and brotherhood may flourish in society.

At the conclusion of the event, Ruhi Bano led a collective prayer. Later, the participants were served a grand Langar-e-Hussaini sponsored by Chaudhry Muhammad Adeel Gondal, Director of Lahore Restaurant La Courneuve.

The spiritually uplifting gathering concluded on a note of devotion, love, and reflection, leaving participants inspired by the timeless message of faith, sacrifice, and loyalty embodied by the martyrs of Karbala.
