Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, Gilgit Osama Majeed Cheema has appealed to people, especially tourists to avoid unnecessary travel in mountainous areas as precautionary measures.

In a statement, he said according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Gilgit will rise during next week.

He asked people of Naltar, Gashu, Pahut, Kargah, Bagrut, Haramush, Bargo, Shrut and Jaglot Guru to refrain from traveling in drains or mountainous areas where there is a risk of landslides or floods.
