In India, ten companies of Indian paramilitary forces will be deployed in Punjab to meet security challenges ahead of anniversary of Operation Blue Star.
Following a requisition by the state government, Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the deployment of additional force in the state.
It was in June, 1984; Indian army attacked the Sikh holiest place, Golden Temple, and massacred thousands of Sikhs including their spiritual leader Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale.
The Indian army reduced the Sikhs’ holiest shrine to rubble.
