First Lady Samina Alvi says government is striving hard for women empowerment to ensure their participation in country’s development.

Speaking at a gathering after inaugurating Annual Charity Baazar organized by Pakistan Foreign Office Women Association in Islamabad on Saturday, she said we are also working to protect women from the breast cancer and helping people with disability.

The First Lady also called for extending maximum facilitation for the persons with disability and patients facing mental diseases. She urged media and international community to play their due role in creating awareness and ensuring welfare of the deserving ones.

It is pertinent to mention that embassies and High Commissions of various countries have setup stalls representing their culture.

A large number of diplomats and their family members are attending the event.
