Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has emphasized early conclusion of Enhanced Strategic Partnership agreement with United Kingdom to further strengthen the bilateral ties.
He received a telephone call from British Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron today.
Reiterating the importance of Pakistan-UK relations, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan and UK have longstanding, historic relations with multifaceted cooperation.
The Foreign Minister underscored the need to further enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and people to people contacts and climate.
He called for early resumption of PIA flights between Pakistan and the UK to further boost linkages, particularly in view of the large Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom.
The two Ministers also discussed important regional issues including Afghanistan and the situation in Gaza.
The Foreign Minister invited Lord Cameron to visit Pakistan.
He thanked the British Foreign Secretary for his message of felicitations on his appointment as the Foreign Minister and said he looked forward to working closely with the UK leadership to further strengthen bilateral relations.
