At least forty-six people died and sixty others injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in rains-related incidents during the current wave of torrential rains.

According to the latest PDMA report, the dead include twenty-five children, twelve men and nine women.

More than four-hundred houses were completely damaged while around two-thousand and five hundred were partially damaged.

The provincial government has released one-hundred and ten million rupees to PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the victim families.

Meanwhile, torrential rains in upper Swat and nearby Shangla district have paralyzed routine life, forcing tourists and local residents to remain in their hotels and homes.

Landslides at links roads connecting Kalam-Mingora Road were also reported, which disrupted traffic flow.

According to Met Office, rains are expected to continue intermittently till tomorrow.

People are asked to report any untoward incident to help line 1700.
