The Punjab government has initiated the distribution process of 40,000 Kisan Cards across the province.

This was revealed during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif regarding the Agriculture Department’s initiatives in Lahore today.

The briefing highlighted that Kisan Cards will be available to farmers from agricultural centers in each tehsil’s agriculture office.

Starting from mid-next month, farmers will be able to use the Kisan Cards for the wheat crop.

The initiative aims to benefit 0.5 million farmers, with each farmer eligible for loans ranging from PKR 30,000 to PKR 150,000 per acre.

In addition to the Kisan Card initiative, the meeting approved the Agricultural Mall Pilot Project in Okara, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and Sargodha, where farmers can access seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural goods, as well as loans and counseling services.

The Fresh Agriculture Graduates Intern Program was also greenlit, targeting the training of 1,000 agriculture graduates across Punjab. Furthermore, the CM Green Tractor Scheme will distribute 10,000 tractors to farmers over the course of the year.
