A Provincisl local conference of youth was organized on the topic of climate change with the support of International Water Management Institute, FAO, BRSP and Revival of Balochistan Water Resources in the provincial capital of Quetta BUITEMS University. Scholars working on climate change, faculty members of universities and a large number of young students participated in the event. The aim of the seminar was to sensitize youth on climate change impacts and challenges. Dr. Arshad Khan, Deputy Country Head of International Water Management institute, delivered a detailed lecture on water conservation, supply and better use on this occasion. In the conference, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS Dr professor Khalid Hafeez, Forest Secretary Dostain Jamaldini,Secretary religious affair Muhammad Ishaq Jamali Pro VC BUITEMS Dr. Abdul Rahman, RBWR’s Yele Beekma, FOA’s Dr. Azam Kakar, BRSP’s Abdul Qahir, IDSP’s Safdar Hussain Climate Specialist Urooj Khan، Dr Aneela also attended the conference and shared their views on the impacts of climate change.

Members of NGOs working on youth and climate also participated in the event and informed about climate change measures in Balochistan. On this occasion, special guest Naseem Ur Rehman Mullakhel Advisor Climate Change Provincial Minister Education Raheela Hameed Durrani said that the young generation will have to play their role in dealing with climate change and its effects. Balochistan is the most affected area in terms of climate change, the young generation has to be ready to deal with these challenges.A panel discussion and question and answer session were also organized on this occasion. Honorary shields were also distributed among the participants at the end of the ceremony.
