Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to advance high level dialogue and cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.
This agreement was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Md. Touhid Hossain, on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.
This was the first meeting between the two dignitaries, following their assumption of office.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the historical, religious and cultural linkages between the two countries.
Both the sides agreed to strengthen cooperation at various multilateral fora.
They also discussed revitalization of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
