Punjab government has decided to establish a Special Planning Authority to regulate zoning for commercial, residential and agricultural lands to curb illegal housing societies.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore on Wednesday.
She said the SPA will oversee district land use planning and zoning with mandatory reviews every four years.
Maryam Nawaz also reviewed proposals for eco-friendly, walkable housing societies and assessed progress on the Lahore Development Plan.
