
A flag hoisting ceremony was organized at the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara to celebrate the national day of Pakistan with traditional zeal and fervor. Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid hoisted the Pakistan national flag to the tune of the national anthem in the presence of distinguished guests and Pakistani community.
Special messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion. In their messages, the leadership congratulated the nation, and paid homage to the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his comrades. The leadership also expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri legitimate demand for the right of self-determination.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Junaid underscored the historical significance of Pakistan Day. He highlighted that 23rd March, serves as a poignant reminder of the immense sacrifices, rendered by the founding fathers, in their quest to establish an independent homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. He emphasized that the spirit of Pakistan resolution reminds us that unity, faith, discipline should be our guiding principle for success. ‘The journey of Pakistan has been shaped by perseverance and unwavering determination and today as a nation, we reaffirm our resolve to contribute our best to the peace, security and development of Pakistan’, he added.
Expressing his gratitude to the martyrs and veterans, ambassador paid rich tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, which continue to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and stability with great valor.
Ambassador Junaid thanked the Turkish leadership and people for sending congratulatory messages and joining Pakistan Day celebrations by illuminating bridges on the Bosphorus linking Asia with Europe in the colours of Pakistan’s flag. Congratulatory messages were also displayed on Atakule, the tallest tower in Ankara.
March 23rd is a significant day in the history of Pakistan. On this day in 1940, Lahore Resolution, which later came to be known as Pakistan Resolution, demanding a separate state for the Muslims of the subcontinent, was adopted. The dream envisaged on 23rd March 1940 became a reality on 14th August 1947 in the form of Pakistan.
