Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has formally launched Pakistan’s first Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority during a grand ceremony held at the Expo Center in Lahore.

The authority is set to become fully operational in the Lahore Division next week and will be rolled out across the province by December.

As chief guest, Maryam Nawaz Sharif inspected the PERA Force, its operational vehicles, motorbikes, weapons, protective gear, and modern equipment. She expressed special appreciation upon seeing female Senior District Enforcement Officers (SDEOs) as part of the force, noting their active role in this new initiative.

A smartly turned-out PERA contingent performed a formal march past, martial arts demonstration, and a mock drill on protest management, showcasing the operational readiness of the newly formed authority.

PERA has been mandated to take systematic and forceful actions against hoarding, profiteering, and illegal land grabbing throughout Punjab.
