President Asif Ali Zardari has said Pakistan and Ghana enjoy cordial relations that need to be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of both countries.

He was talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador designate to Ghana Najeeb Durrani, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.

The President urged the Ambassador to focus on promoting economic and trade relations between the two nations.

He highlighted that Pakistan offers a business-friendly environment and asked the Ambassador-designate to encourage Ghanaian businesses to undertake joint ventures with Pakistani entrepreneurs and invest in Pakistan’s economy.

The President further stressed the importance of strengthening institutional linkages to bring the two countries closer.

He expressed satisfaction that Ghanaian diplomats and engineers are receiving training in Pakistan, terming it a positive step towards expanding bilateral cooperation.
