
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan and Iran share steadfast commitment to work in cohesion and cooperation for global peace and unity of Muslim Ummah.
He expressed these views while talking to Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who called on him along with delegation in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the delegation and recalled the cordial bilateral ties with the brotherly Muslim country of Iran.
He reiterated firm commitment of both countries for peaceful means of dialogue and diplomacy for resolution of all outstanding disputes around the world.
Shehbaz Sharif extended utmost reverence to Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pazeshkian.
He stated that both countries condemn state-sponsored terrorism and have always supported each other in the wake of unilateral aggression against their sovereign states.
The Prime Minister said both the countries have unfortunately been victim of terrorism and thus firmly share the resolve of global peace, prosperity and positive cooperation in the region.
He expressed the resolve that Pakistan is eager to foster cooperation in the fields of mutual interest including economic development and bilateral trade.
In his remarks, Speaker of Iranian Parliament Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, government and people of Pakistan for their valued and well-placed support in the recent Iran- Israel conflict.
He said the support shown by Pakistan in the 12-day war is deeply appreciated and cherished by the people of Iran.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament stated that Iran and Pakistan firmly believe in the unity of Muslim Ummah and in the message of global peace.
While expressing special gratitude to the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament cherished the positive and robust cooperation between the parliaments of both countries.
He also expressed Iran’s commitment to further enhance bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of economic development and trade.
The Speaker of Iranian Parliament conveyed message of warmth and reverence from Iranian President Masoud Pazeshkian to the Prime Minister and people of Pakistan.
He also expressed gratitude for a warm hospitality extended to him during his visit to Pakistan.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi also attended the meeting.
