At the UN, Pakistan has called for renewed political dialogue and full implementation of peace agreement to stabilize South Sudan.
The call was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad while speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in South Sudan.
The Ambassador noted the crucial role of the Security Council and the international community to maintain political commitment, and support with necessary resources, including for peacekeeping and humanitarian needs.
