
Pakistan has urged the UN Security Council to ensure that the Syrian sovereignty is upheld and the collective action to consolidate peace and recovery is anchored in a Syrian-led political transition.
Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting, Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN Usman Jadoon recalled that the past year had opened an opportunity for a path toward stability, recovery, and reconciliation,” while also emphasizing that it be matched by the international community’s constructive engagement.
He strongly denounced Israel’s repeated infringements of Syria’s sovereignty, citing attacks and territorial occupation as conduct that must cease without delay.
Usman Jadoon reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to stand with Syria and its people.
