Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of Stroke Management Centers in every district of the province.
While presiding over a meeting in Lahore on Tuesday, the Chief Minister directed that a telemedicine project for the immediate treatment of stroke patients should be launched without delay.
The doctors at district hospitals will be able to establish direct telephonic contact with specialists and consultants for the prompt treatment of stroke patients.
She directed that one doctor and one nurse in each district be provided with immediate three-month training in stroke management.
She also directed to initiate a nurses’ training program for Stroke Management Centers and ordered necessary measures to provide stroke management training to rescuers.
She directed that a public awareness campaign for stroke treatment be launched.
