KSA keen to modernize Pakistan’s communications sector

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan says Pakistan is keen to foster public-private partnerships with Saudi Arabia to modernize its transport sector.

He was speaking to Saudi Minister for Transport and Logistics Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser on the sidelines of the OIC Conference in Istanbul.

Both ministers discussed the ongoing progress in the Saudi communications sector and explored ways to promote cooperation among OIC member states to strengthen regional trade and connectivity.

Abdul Aleem Khan formally invited the Saudi government to invest in the M-10 Motorway, featuring a new alignment from Karachi Port to Hyderabad.

He also highlighted the potential for significant investment in Pakistan’s maritime sector.

The Saudi Minister expressed keen interest in modernizing Pakistan’s communications sector.

He noted that Saudi Arabia is particularly interested in increasing flight operations to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, former Turkish Minister for Family and Social Services Zehra Zumrut Selcuk also held a meeting with Abdul Aleem Khan. 

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the agriculture sector.

Discussions were also held on the collaboration in the field of Islamic banking.
