Pakistan has targeted seven terrorist camps and hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban, Fitna al-Khawarij and its affiliates, and Islamic State Khorasan Province in an intelligence-based operation with utmost precision in the Pak-Afghan border area.
The action came following the recent suicide bombings in Pakistan, including at an Imambargah in Islamabad, Bajaur, and Bannu as well as another attack in Bannu during the holy month of Ramadan.
Pakistan has conclusive evidence that these terrorist acts were carried out by the Khawarij at the behest of their leadership and handlers based in Afghanistan.
Pakistan expects the interim Afghan government to fulfill its responsibilities and prevent the use of its territory by the Kharijites and terrorists against Pakistan.
Pakistan also expects the international community to play a positive and constructive role by urging the Taliban government to abide by its commitments to prevent the use of Afghan territory against other countries.
