Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from his Italian counterpart, Giorgia Meloni.
During the conversation, the Italian Prime Minister appreciated Pakistan’s successful diplomatic efforts for the US-Iran ceasefire and resumption of dialogue.
She also felicitated the Prime Minister on hosting the forthcoming peace negotiations between the U.S. and Iran in Islamabad.
While underscoring the genuine and sincere desire of Pakistan for peace and stability in the region, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed a joint statement issued by key European and international leaders, including Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in support of Pakistan’s peace efforts.
The two leaders also expressed their serious concern over the ongoing hostilities in Lebanon.
Both sides agreed on the need for coordinated international efforts to prevent further escalation and pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
