Pakistan Railways would receive the first batch of 46 new coaches from China next month which would provide modern travelling facilities to the passengers.

According to Pakistan Railways official, out of the total 230 coaches, 46 will be provided as completely built units and the remaining 184 will be manufactured in the county by the department’s engineers and technical staff under the supervision of the Chinese experts.

The official said the Chinese experts are proving training to the technical staff of Pakistan Railways on the manufacturing of such coaches.

He said Pakistan Railway is planning to upgrade the dilapidated track as the Khanpur-Kotri section which was not fit for high-speed train operation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways has decided to restore Chenab Express train, which was suspended due to recent floods across the country.

According to Pakistan Railways authorities, the train would resume service from Hawailian to reach Karachi via Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Shorkot from 10th of this month.
