Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to a peaceful, environment friendly and developed world.

The resolve was expressed by Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf while talking to a parliamentary delegation of Belgium, who arrived in Islamabad on Monday on a week-long visit.

The Speaker said Belgium and Pakistan have cordial ties based on a common commitment to democracy, pluralism, and trust.

He also underscored Pakistan’s desire to develop its blue economy with the help of the EU and its technical and financial support.

On the occasion, Chairperson of Belgium-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group Senator Allessia Claes emphasized the need for letting the world know the real narrative of Pakistan, which battled valiantly against all odds to become a stable and peaceful nation.

The visit is aimed at further promoting parliamentary cooperation between the two countries to maximize the gains in trade and bolster people-to-people contacts.
