Caretaker Punjab government presented people friendly and tax free budget for the first four month for next financial year 2023-24 with a total outlay of 1719.3 billion rupees.

This was announced by Punjab Caretaker Minister for Information Amir Mir and Caretaker Minister for Industries, Commerce and Energy SM Tanveer in a joint news conference in Lahore this afternoon.

Amir Mir announced to increase the pays of government employees by thirty percent while pension as five percent however twenty percent increase of pension of those pensioners who are over eighty years of age.

He said that 47.6 billion rupees has been allocated for agriculture initiatives.

Caretaker Information Minister announced the establishment of endowment fund of one billion rupees for journalists.

He informed that 183.7 billion has been allocated for health sector while 195.1 billion rupees allocated for education.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Caretaker Minister for Industries S M Tanvir announced the establishment of Information Technology Park in Lahore Knowledge Park.

It was informed that all provincial taxes on IT sector have been abolished.

Earlier, the Punjab Caretaker Minister Amir Mir informed that Punjab Caretaker Cabinet approved the financial budget in its 17th cabinet meeting held in Lahore today chaired by Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi.
