Pakistan and Germany have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation in diverse fields including trade, investment and energy.     

The understanding to this effect reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the New Global Financing Pact Summit in Paris.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked Germany for extending financial assistance of 163 million Euros to Pakistan for flood affected people.

The Prime Minister said he has always taken development of Germany as an example and the way it achieved a prominent place in the comity of nations, is also an example for the developing countries.

He expressed the hope that Germany will become the voice of the developing people in resolving the issues pertaining to climate change and fiscal pressure. He also lauded the German companies and NGOs working in Pakistan.

On the occasion, the German Chancellor expressed his best wishes for the government and people of Pakistan.
