International Labour Organization has appreciated the active engagement of Pakistan with the ILO.

Director General Gilbert F Houngbo expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation from the Senate of Pakistan, led by Leader of the House Senator Ishaq Dar in Geneva today.

He also shared that the current programme, being carried out by the Organization in the country, aims at extending and enhancing technical and advisory support to Pakistan to strengthen its compliance with ILO standards.

On the occasion, Senator Ishaq Dar appreciated the support extended by the ILO, particularly in the post-flood period.

The visiting delegation also apprised the Director General of their keenness to promote greater social justice in the country by improving labour standards and enhancing employability prospects through collaborative efforts by all national stakeholders.
