Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf says enhancing regional cooperation is vital for peace and development.
He was Speaking at the Second Round of the Trilateral, Speakers’ Meeting at Istanbul, which was attended by the speakers of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkiye.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf called for deliberating and formulating joint vision for the governments in ensuring regional peace and security.
While talking about the situation in Afghanistan, the Speaker said Pakistan is committed to peace and stability in Afghanistan, which is pivotal for regional security.
The meeting adopted the Istanbul Declaration which emphasized the importance of extensive cooperation between the three countries for enhancing regional stability, security and prosperity.
The Istanbul Declaration also reiterated the principled position of the three countries on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and resolved their support for a just and peaceful resolution in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolution.
