Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar says all ministries have been given targets with long and short-term goals.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore today, he said these targets were given at an important meeting held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday.
Attaullah Tarar said the Prime Minister has decided to check the performance of ministries and set performance indicators in this regard.
He said the Prime Minister has given a task to finance minister for reducing inflation and unemployment, improving growth rate, reducing trade deficit and increasing foreign exchange. He said increasing exports in IT sector are also included in the targets.
The Minister said the Interior Ministry has been given the target to develop a system on modern lines for elimination of terrorism in the country. He said steps are also being taken to prevent smuggling.
