Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated several projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, aimed at the development and progress of the area.

The inaugural ceremony of the completed projects was held in Gilgit today.

These projects include Naltar Expressway, construction of Engineering Block at the Karakoram International University, construction of Baltistan University project, and provision of hi-speed internet in the length and breadth of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Prime Minister also laid foundation stone of Attabad Lake Hydro Project, Harpo Hydro Project, establishment of regional grid station, and Greater Water Supply Hunza Project.

Later talking to the media, the Prime Minister expressed the confidence that the completion of mega development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan will usher in a new era of development and prosperity.

He also stressed the need to equip the youth with necessary IT skills as there are immense opportunities for skilled manpower in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries.

The Prime Minister expressed the commitment to take steps for the promotion of tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan to bring prosperity to the region.

Acknowledging the courageous struggle and sacrifices of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for freedom from the Dogra rule, Shehbaz Sharif assured that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain as their blood will bear fruit to make Pakistan a great country.
