Today, on World Scout Day, the global Scout community marks the birth anniversary of Lord Baden Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement. The day serves as a reminder of the movement’s mission to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual development of young people through educational, non-political activities.
In Pakistan, both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their heartfelt messages to Scouts, urging them to contribute to the nation’s progress. President Zardari encouraged Scouts to play an active role in shaping a greener, more inclusive Pakistan by engaging in tree-planting campaigns, literacy programs, and social welfare initiatives. He emphasized the importance of building responsible citizens who are committed to the country’s growth.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the invaluable role of trained Scouts, not only in times of peace but also during crises. He called for dynamic and engaging programs that challenge young minds, build initiative, and strengthen character. Prime Minister Sharif praised initiatives like Messengers of Peace, which empower Scouts to foster unity, harmony, and social change, encouraging them to grow into responsible global citizens.
This day underscores the vital contribution of Scouts in shaping a better future for individuals and communities worldwide.
