
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed that payments have been disbursed to 89 percent of the beneficiaries under the Prime Minister’s Ramzan Relief Package 2026.
He was chairing a review meeting on the Prime Minister’s Ramzan Relief Package 2026 in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister commended all relevant institutions for ensuring transparent disbursement of funds to deserving individuals. He termed Social Protection Wallets a significant milestone and a successful initiative in promoting financial technology and transparency in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif also directed that all payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme be disbursed through Social Protection Wallets.
The meeting was apprised that, so far, 1,955,620 digital transactions have been carried out under the Ramzan Relief Package 2026.
It was further informed that a comprehensive awareness campaign is being conducted regarding the package. Beneficiaries have been provided complete information through print, electronic, and social media platforms.
It was also shared that 1.7 million calls have been received on the 9999 helpline, while 2.7 million SMS messages have been sent regarding the programme.
The briefing highlighted that Social Protection Wallets under the Ramzan Relief Package 2026 have proven highly effective in reducing the gender gap in access to digital financial systems in the country.
