
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has emphasized that Pakistan will not tolerate use of Afghan soil for conduct of terrorism against its people.
He was interacting with Ulema of Fiqa-e-Jafria at Rawalpindi where matters of national security and role of Ulema in societal harmony came under discussion.
The Field Marshal reiterated the resolve to eliminate terrorists and their infrastructure operating against Pakistan wherever they may be, through precise, intelligence-based operations. He emphasized that Afghan Taliban must prevent use of Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan.
The Field Marshal also underscored vital role of Ulema in promoting unity, tolerance and national cohesion, particularly in countering misinformation, sectarian narratives and externally sponsored destabilization efforts.
He highlighted Pakistan’s efforts and pro-active diplomacy in seeking regional de-escalation. He emphasized the critical role of Ulema to strengthen unity and counter extremism, reiterating that religious sentiments must not be exploited to incite violence in the country. Violence in Pakistan, on the basis of incidents occurring in another country, will not be tolerated.
The participating Ulema expressed their desire for peace, stability, and condemned violence in the name of religion in strongest terms. They expressed wholehearted support to law enforcement agencies in bringing about peace and stability in the country.
The Ulema and Mashaekh also paid glowing tribute to Shuhada for rendering sacrifices for defence of the motherland and lauded the role of Armed Forces of Pakistan for scaling down tensions in the region.
At the end of the meeting, they also recorded special messages regarding national integrity and unity.
Chairman Wahdat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Zahid Abbas Kazmi assured that they would stand shoulder to shoulder along with Pakistan Army at every front. He said the war against terrorism is not just a war of the Pakistani Army, but also of the whole nation. He strongly condemned the damage inflicted to the military installations in Gilgit-Baltistan, saying that they have nothing to do with such elements.
Allama Shabbir Hassan Maysami said Pakistan is our country, we have rendered sacrifices for it and will continue to do so. He said we stand resolutely with the country against all kinds of internal and external conspiracies.
Maulana Altaf Hussain said Armed Forces of Pakistan gave an effective and befitting response to the unprovoked aggression by Afghanistan. He said we are Pakistani, our identity is only Pakistan and we are proud of it.
Allama Arif Wahidi said Pakistan’s Armed Forces inflicted a humiliating defeat on India in Marka-e-Haq. The entire nation stands by the Pakistan Army against Afghanistan’s unprovoked aggression. He said Pakistan and its unity is paramount for us.
Allama Mirza Ali urged the youth to never be a part of any anti-state activity and play a positive role for stability of the country.
Allama Nazir Abbas Naqvi said Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan are involved in terrorist incidents in Pakistan.
Allama Tauqeer Abbas said Pakistan is our country and we stand firmly with the Pakistan’s Armed Forces for its integrity.
Maulana Basharat Imami paid tributes to the martyrs and their families who made matchless sacrifices for defence of the motherland.
One the occasion, the Ulema and Mashaekh prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the unity and stability of Pakistan.
